| PPO, polyphenylene oxide |
View Material Data |
| PPO is amorphous with a high glass transition temperature (above 200 C) and is very stiff. The water absorption is low, and the resistance to hydrolysis good. Flame retarded grades up to UL94 V0 and V5 exist, but without flame retardants they are normally classed HB. Standard PPO has a short time service temperature of 110 C, and continuous at 85 C. A typical odour is common when machining PPO, and the material has a tendency to stress-cracking. |
