PE, polyethylene View Material Data
High molecular polyethylene have excellent tribological properties and high impact strength, even at low temperatures. PE does not absorb water and the chemical resistance is excellent. It has good electrical properties, low permittivity and loss and high resistivity. It also withstands high energetic radiation, but not UV. It has modest mechanical properties; low strength and stiffness, and tends to creep.
PE 1000:
PE HD 1000, ultra high molecular weight polyethylene UHMW-PE, with molecular weight of 4,5 million g/mol. Excellent wear resistance and low friction, as well as impact strength.

PE 1000 EL, conducting/antistatic:
Black antistatic UHMW-PE, with enhanced UV-resistance. The material is dissipative, bordering on conductive. Molecular weights of 7 million g/mol renders high toughness and abrasion resistance.
