|
| PTFE, Teflon, is a crystalline polymer. The melting (gel) point is 327 C and PTFE can be used continuously at 260 C, short term at 300 C. PTFE has excellent electrical properties, with low permittivity and loss factor across a wide temperature and frequency range. It has the loest friction of all plastics. Apart from good toughness, the mechanical properties are modest, it is not stiff or hard, it has low resistance to creep (cold flows) and poor wear resistance. |
