| Polymethyl pentene is a stiff and tough isotactic polyolefin with exceptional optical, thermal and electrical properties. It has high heat resistance, with a melting point around 230 C, continuous use temperature at 120 C and short term at 180 C. It has the lowest desity of all commercial platics. despite PMP being highly crystalline, it has 90% transparency with low haze. Light transmission exceeds that of glass near UV. |
