| PAI is an amorphous polymer with glass tarnsition and heat distortion temperatures in the range 270-280 C. PAI has outstanding mechanical properties with good impact resistance even at low temperatures (-200 C), and maintains stiffness and strength up to its glass transition. Creep resistance is good and heat expansion low, ressembling that of aluminium. PAI is flame resistant and classed UL94 V0, with oxygen index 43%. It has high radiation resistance, but it is attacked by several chemicals, and also steam and alkali at elevated temperatures. |
